How does it work?
Microdermabrasion buffs away the outermost layer of skin cells to improve the overall appearance and vitality of the skin. Fine particle-free wands chip away a thin layer of the old or damaged skin surface to reveal the younger skin beneath. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation. It has proven to be a very popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure.

How is it administered?
Microdermabrasion is a skin freshening technique that helps repair skin that has been damaged from the sun and the effects of aging. The Diamond Tome device has fine edges that gently scrape the skin surface, resulting in a superficial exfoliation or polishing of the skin. The number of treatments recommended for maximal results can range between 5 and 12, spaced from 2 to 3 weeks apart. Maintenance of results requires periodic repeat treatments after the initial regimen is completed. Microdermabrasion may be combined with a light chemical peel to increase the effect.
