How does it work?
Acne phototherapy using Light Heat Energy (LHE) is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory Acne Vulgaris for all skin types. Acne phototherapy is based on the process of destruction of the bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) involved in the production of acne. These are slow growing bacteria, which develop in blocked follicles, and produce porphyrins as part of their normal metabolism. Exposure of porphyrins to visible light results in photodynamic reaction of these compounds, and destruction of the bacteria. This treatment has been shown to significantly reduce the number of pustules (superficial inflammatory lesions composed primarily of white and yellow pus) and papules (raised red circular areas of skin containing no pus), two of the main lesions present in mild and moderate inflammatory acne.

How is it administered?
Best results are not obtained from a single treatment, but usually from a series of treatments. Initially, treatments are spaced about twice per week for 4 weeks. Individual results may vary depending on individual factors, medical history, client compliance with pre-post treatment instructions and individual response to treatments. Most patients experience a 90% decrease in acne after one month.

Any quoted cost is an estimate, and can vary according to your needs. Individual pricing for any medical treatment will be discussed at the time of your complimentary consultation.
